    Your Responsibilities Include

    • Assist the state director in the development and execution of issue education initiatives throughout the state chapter on priority initiatives, including criminal justice reform, economic freedom, occupational licensing, etc.
    • In collaboration with state director and headquarters team, oversee the development of legislative scorecard
    • Develop candidate questionnaire and develop a timeline and strategy for conducting candidate interviews
    • Working with the state director, identify key grassroots and legislative initiatives that you are excited to own and execute from soup to nuts
    • Drive narratives around the priority initiatives for the state chapter
    • Be a positive and productive team member who helps to set a culture example and drive culture throughout the state chapter
    • Develop and implement a strategy for building partnerships with individuals and groups that share our vision to help advance the goals of the state chapter and organization
    • Proactively solve problems, make decisions, and prioritize in collaboration with state director to drive strategy to advance the vision of the organization
    • Supervise a team of five to drive policy victories at the local, state, and federal level

     

    Knowledge and Skills You Bring to the Organization

    • 5+ years of grassroots and/or government affairs experience, ideally a mixture of both
    • Previous supervisory and management responsibilities
    • Demonstrated ability to manage and maintain strategic relationships and partnerships
    • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
    • Excellent problem-solving skills
    • Strong organization, time management, and prioritization skills
    • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively, in a fast-paced environment
    • Integrity, humility, and an entrepreneurial attitude
    • A positive attitude that focuses on solving problems once they have been identified
