Overview

The Foundation Intern will be an integral part of the new team to analyze and chart opportunities to growth the quantity and quality of activists. By providing research, analysis, and testing various projects in the field, the Foundation Intern will assist this new team to grow and develop the next generation of activists. The intern will assist in multiple capacities within the department including: research, administrative, logistics, events, and curriculum development. The candidate should have a commitment to the principles of the organization – specifically, a firm commitment to educating people how freedom can empower people to improve the lives of themselves and people within their communities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in tracking information about activist activities
  • Assist staff in identifying venues and catering for events and provide support for event execution
  • Assist in printing, compiling, and shipping all necessary event materials
  • Research communities to identify unique needs that could be met
  • Identify opportunities to develop, engage, or reengage activists
  • Assist in managing office space, including but not limited to, answering phones, editing materials, and ordering supplies
  • Perform other tasks and special projects to assist staff as needed

Qualifications

  •  Ability to work Monday-Friday (20-40 hours per week) for 4 months (January-May)
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, occasionally under strict deadlines
  • Grassroots or campaign experience preferred
  • Desire to empower people to improve their lives
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional written communication skills
  • Integrity, humility and an entrepreneurial attitude
  • Positive, goal-oriented outlook
  • Willingness to learn and provide assistance as necessary
